VINYL LINER CARE AND MAINTENANCE
Bauer Pools, recommends the following guidelines for all Vinyl Liner Customers.
THE SINGLE MOST IMPORTANT FACTOR TO MAXIMIZING THE LIFE OF YOUR LINER IS PROPER WATER BALANCE. THE FOLLOWING IS A RANGE OF BASIC WATER CHEMISTRY.
|pH||7.4-7.6ppm||Weekly||Protects Metal Parts and Fixutres|
|Calcium Hardness||150-350ppm||Weekly||Prevents equipment damage|
|Cyanuric Acid||40-70ppm||Monthly||Helps prevent loss of chlorine|
pH and Stabilizer
Not only do proper pH levels allow the other chemicals to do their work but it is important to note that low and high levels can cause damage to the liner. A low pH below 7.0, the liner can actually grow and develop unsightly wrinkles. A high pH greatly accelerates the aging process. Regular levels of Cyanuric Acid will help insure a consistent range of all the other chemicals.
A range of 1.0 - 1.Sppm of chlorine will do the job of killing the bacteria in the water. Above this range will attack the liner, bleaching it out.
Clean the Water Line
Dirt and grime will shorten the life of a pool liner. The "bathtub ring" is usually caused by the accumulation of airborne contaminants, combining with dirt and suntan oils will settle on the liner and can be baked in by the sun. Routinely wipe the water line with a sponge or use a Tile Cleaner to eliminate the build up.
Don't drain the pool
Never lower the water level of the pool to less than a foot of water in the shallow end. If the water pressure is removed from the liner, it may shrink, causing, at the least, an unsightly liner, and up to tearing around fittings or in the comers. CALL BAURE POOLS FIRST!
